Evangelism Leadership
The evangelism leadership team of Calvary Bible Church have committed themselves with reckless abandon to model and train for the following vision: Reach anyone, anywhere, any time with the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Our pursuit of this vision breaks down into three steps: Engage, Assimilate and Train.
Engage them with the gospel.
Whether it be our barber, neighbor, coworker, classmate, unsaved spouse or stranger on the park bench, engage happens when we boldly and gently live and speak the gospel of Jesus Christ and urge people to repent and follow Him. Engage happens through follow-up visits to Calvary visitors, evangelism teams hitting local hot spots to strike up spiritual conversations and with people God sovereignly brings into our lives each week.
Assimilate them into the body.
Once a soul has repented of his sins and trusted Jesus Christ, we do all we can to assimilate that new believer into the local family of God where he can establish relationships with believers in Life Groups and use his gifts to serve others.
Train them to reach the lost.
The end goal completes the cycle as we train that new believer in how to share her faith so that she too can reach lost people that God brings into her life. We have used a variety of materials (such as Evangelism Explosion and Way of the Master) to train believers in how to share their faith and currently are writing up a new training manual uniquely customized for people of Calvary Bible Church.
Practical Opportunites to Serve
We have many outreach opportunities happening right now, but would like to highlight the following ministries hoping you will be interested in serving in them.
If you would like to get more information on our local outreach ministries use our online form to contact the church office.
Angel Tree
Through a partnership with Prison Fellowship, this ministry reaches out to Kalamazoo children who have a parent in prison. Along with Christmas gifts and summer camp ministry, Angel Tree seeks to establish mentoring relationships with children. More mentors are needed along with funding to provide camp scholarships.
HealthyHomes
In 2006 this new ministry communicated Christ’s love in word and deed to six families on Kalamazoo’s Northside through replacing their windows. In order to reach more families in 2007, we need workers, liasons, and funding. The vision for 2007 is simple: Establish a ministry to local neighborhoods in East Kalamazoo, establish/train 4 crew leaders, and establish/train 16 liaison couples.
Strategies for Living
We have created Strategies as a community service publication to be mailed to thousands of residents several times a year. Our aim is to reach out to our neighbors by offering ways to make life ‘simply meaningful.’ Strategies started as a 16–page mini–magazine and includes home strategies, financial strategies, family strategies, a testimony & gospel presentation and more!
We believe this will be a great way to have an ongoing connection with the people around us and will demonstrate to people the love Calvary has for the community.
